The USS Hyperion is a Sovereign-class starship currently on patrol in the galactic north-west part of the Beta Quadrant. Her Starfleet Registration is NCC 7438-F.

She is commanded by Captain Tom Waterford, and supported by XO Commander Jim Roys.

The latest Hyperion mission once again saw the crew of the Hyperion sent on a mission through time. Only, this time, at the hands of the Q Continuum.
The priciples of the crew and their adherence to the Prime Directive were pushed to the limits as the crew were forced to carry out the assassination of a prominent political figure in 18th Century North America after the person who should have carried it out was killed before the event took place.
It was a tough mission, pushing the crew to their limits as many of them had to face personal demons and overcome them.
Once more, however, the crew triumphed and were safely returned to 2385, albeit 6 months after being sent back in time.
It was after returning to Deep Space 7 that Commander Roys was confirmed as the Executive Officer of the Hyperion and Commander Waterford was promoted to Captain and confirmed as Commanding Officer.
The crew are enjoying a shoreleave before their next mission...whatever that may be.
