Scott Donnelly

Scott R. Donnelly was born upon the USS Yakota, the second of three children. The Donnelly family was well adjusted to life on a starship. His mother resigned her commission when her first child was born. Scott and his family enjoyed traveling, and exploring new cultures, sometimes adopting traditions of those cultures into their own family life. When Scott was in third grade his father requested to be stationed in Utah, North America to be close their families. Scott grew up with a close knit extended family.

In school Scott did well, achieving high grades in most of his courses. He found proficiency for the sciences, especially biology and exobiology. He decided at an early age to pursue a career in medicine. But while pursuing his secondary education, Scott changed his field of study to psychology. He took various classes unrelated to his major, finding so many things interesting, and the opportunities to learn too tempting. He enjoyed competing on both the high school track and field and wrestling teams. He continued these pursuits during his college career as well. Scott enjoyed college immensely, finding a chance to assert his independence and challenge his intellect.

After graduating college with a degree in psychology, he wasn’t quite sure what to do next. He missed the discipline that academics and athletics had provided. It only took a little consideration to follow after his father and join Starfleet.

The Dominion War began late in Scott’s freshman year at Starfleet Academy. Earth and the Federation were on edge. This couldn’t be felt any stronger than at the Academy. The hope that war could be avoided was shattered with the Breen raid on San Francisco. Starfleet cadets used most of their free time to repair the ravaged city. The Treaty of Bajor ended the war a year before Scott graduated. The Cardassian Union was in danger of total collapse. The Alpha Quadrant had lost a major power, and the effects on galactic politics would continue to be seen for many years to come.

Scott Donnelly has continued his service to Starfleet on many ships. His steady and reliable nature have helped him progress in rank and position. By the request of his old friend Ambler Furry, Scott took the position of Chief of Security aboard the USS Arc Angel (NCC-73933-A). The ship was retired in 2385 and much of its crew assigned to Dorvan V. Commander Donnelly took the position of Commander of Outpost Igelstrom.

While serving in this position Commander Donnelly was kidnapped and later tortured by a cell of terrorists. This and the later suicide (in his presence) of Commander and Planetary Governor Avery Cook have left an indelible mark on Scott Donnelly. He now has the role of acting Governor.
